Justification
This species has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 14 985 km², and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 204 km². It has more than 40 known subpopulations, and is one of the most common Babiana species in Namaqualand. It is not threatened, and is therefore listed as Least Concern.

This species is endemic to South Africa, and extends from the southern Richtersveld near Steinkopf to the Kamiesberg in the Northern Cape, and to Bitterfontein in the Western Cape.

Description
It occurs in succulent karoo on granite outcrops, and stony, granitic flats.
Threats
This species has no significant threats.
