Justification
Babiana rigidifolia is a range-restricted species with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 944 km². It is known from only a few collections. It is not yet in danger of extinction, and it is therefore listed as Least Concern.

Range
This species is endemic to the Northern Cape Province, South Africa, where it is restricted in the Bokkeveld-Stinkfontein Mountain complex between Nieuwoudtville and Botterkloof.

Description
It occurs in fynbos, and is found in crevices in sandstone outcrops and rocky pavements in semi-arid sandstone ridges.
Threats
There are no known threats to this species. However, the main land use across its range is crop cultivation.
Population

It is known from a few subpopulations, this species is local to rock crevices. There is not much known about its population, but it is not suspected to be declining.
