Justification
This edaphic habitat specialist is very localized at the summit plateau of Langberg west, with an extent of occurrence (EOO) and area of occupancy (AOO) of 8 km². It is known from a single subpopulation and is not threatened. It therefore qualifies for listing as Critical Rare nationally and qualifies under the IUCN 3.1. criteria as Least Concern.

Description
It occurs in heavy red clay soil among dolerite boulders in succulent Karoo vegetation. Flowers tubes are long and appears to be adapted for pollination by long-proboscid flies.
Threats
This species has no known threats.
Population

It is known from one population that is not suspected to be declining. In 2006, it was recorded as common. About 200 plants were found near Langberg in 2020 by N.A. Helme (iNaturalist observation) in a 20 ha site.
