This is a rare, localized habitat specialist, with an extent of occurrence (EOO) and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 8 km². It is not threatened. It therefore qualifies for listing as Rare nationally and qualifies under the IUCN 3.1. criteria as Least Concern.

Description
Plants grow in cracks in granite bedrock along the margins of perennial streams.
Threats
This species has no threats.
Population

This species is very localized, currently known from a single stream south of the Rooiberg in the Kamiesberg Mountain Range. About 300 plants were observed in 2020 in a 5 km section of river. The population is stable.
