Range | Babiana scariosa is endemic to South Africa, and extends from the Bokkeveld Mountains and Roggeveld Escarpment in the Northern Cape, to the Hex River Mountains, and western Little Karoo near Montagu and the Touwsberg in the Western Cape. |

Description | It occurs on dry sandstone or clay slopes, in arid fynbos or karroid scrub. |
Threats |
Locations in the north of the range near Nieuwoudtville may have been affected by loss of habitat in the past due to agriculture. However, this species does not face any serious threats. |
