Justification
A range-restricted Namaqualand endemic, with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 372 km², and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 28 km². It is known from two locations, and is potentially threatened by livestock grazing. It is therefore listed as Vulnerable under criteria D.

Range
This species is local in northern Namaqualand in Northern Cape Province, South Africa, where it occurs from the southern Richtersveld to Komaggas.

Description
It grows in stony granitic slopes.
Threats
It is potentially threatened by overgrazing (Goldblatt pers. Comm. 2005).
Population

This species is common around Komaggas, Namaqualand. It is known from less than 10 collections from the "Richtersveld", dating from 1925. This species' occurrence further north from Komaggas needs to be confirmed.
