Justification | This Piketberg endemic has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 92 km², and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 20 km². It is known from three locations where it is threatened by fruit and protea orchards on the plateau and by invasive alien pines on the slopes. It is therefore listed as Endangered under criteria B. |

Description | It occurs on sandstone slopes and plateaus in fynbos, flowering mainly after fire. |
Threats |
This species has lost 39% of its habitat (calculated using landcover data in GIS) to fruit and Protea orchards throughout the Piketberg mountains, especially on the plateau. (R.C. Turner, pers. obs.). It is also affected by invasive alien vegetation: Pine and Acacia throughout the Piketberg Mountains. |
