Justification | This subspecies has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 5 963 km², and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 60 km². It is known from nine locations, and is declining as a result of livestock overgrazing and trampling. It is therefore listed as Vulnerable under criteria B. |

| This subspecies occurs on lower slopes and flats, where degradation due to severe overstocking of communally owned rangelands is ongoing. |

It is known from three subpopulations, and has a decreasing population trend.
