Justification
Dierama nebrownii is a range-restricted species with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 3827 km². It is declining due to ongoing habitat loss and degradation across its range, but more than 10 locations are estimated to remain. It therefore nearly meets the criteria thresholds for Vulnerable under criterion B. It is listed as Near Threatened.

This species is endemic to the Mpumalanga Highveld of South Africa, where it occurs from Lydenburg to Belfast and Kaapse Hoop.

Description
It occurs on stony slopes in grassland.
Threats
Dierama nebrownii has lost about 30% of its habitat to timber plantations, and loss continues around Badplaas and Machadodorp. It is also threatened by competition from alien invasive plants as well as overgrazing in parts of its range.
Population

There are very few recent observations of this species. It requires field surveys and monitoring to determine the impacts of habitat degradation on the population. It is suspected to be declining due to ongoing habitat loss.
