Provincial distribution | Eastern Cape |
Range | Uitenhage and Baviaanskloof. |
Habitat and Ecology |

Description | Transition between mountain renosterveld and fynbos on alluvial soils and along streams in flat, well-drained, pebbly river washes. |
Threats |
Invasive alien plants are causing ongoing habitat degradation at all known locations. Vegetable and citrus farming in the Baviaanskloof area and pasture cultivation along the Van Staadens and Zwartkops rivers is resulting in ongoing loss of habitat. Quarrying for gravel is also causing loss of habitat to the alluvial flats along the Zwartkops River. Urban expansion is a threat to subpopulations around Uitenhage. |
