Matjiesfontein Shale Renosterveld
Description
Crevices in shale outcrops on south-facing slopes in Matjiesfontein Shale Renosterveld.
Threats
A small proportion of Matjiesfontein Shale Renosterveld is cultivated, and there is ongoing expansion of crop fields in some places. All known records of this species are however from rocky slopes unsuited to ploughing, and no known subpopulations have yet been lost to crop fields. The area between Touwsrivier and Matjiesfontein is also severely overgrazed (particularly on the flats), and it is potentially threatened by habitat degradation due to overgrazing.
