Threats |
This taxon has lost some habitat to crop cultivation around Nieuwoudtville in the past, however this affects less than 5% of its range, and cultivation of clay soils is no longer expanding. Further west towards Calvinia and northwards towards Loeriesfontein it is not threatened. |
Population |
This subspecies is fairly common on the Bokkeveld Escarpment around Nieuwoudtville (Goldblatt and Manning 2008).
