Population

This species is currently known from a single subpopulation of less than 100 mature individuals along a 200 m stretch of escarpment edge. Searches of similar habitat along the Roggeveld Escarpment to the south failed to record any further plants, but this species is likely to also occur further north, and more surveys are needed to determine the size and extent of the population (Goldblatt and Manning 2012).
