Threats
This species has lost habitat to timber plantations in the Elandskloof Mountains, and some habitat to vineyards in the Slanghoek Valley. Most of its habitat is however unsuited to cultivation, and habitat loss to agriculture is unlikely to be a severe ongoing threat. Spreading, unmanaged alien invasive plants in Bain's Kloof and Du Toit's Kloof are becoming a concern, and is likely to become a threat to this species in future.
Population

This species is known from only a few records, but it may be overlooked as flowering is stimulated by fire.
