Justification
This subspecies has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 1002 km², and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 48 km². It is known from four subpopulations, and is potentially threatened by alien plant invasion. It is listed as Vulnerable under criteria D.

Description
It occurs on sandstone slopes.
Threats
This subspecies has lost 35% of its habitat (calculated using landcover data in GIS). It is potentially threatened by competition from dense infestations of alien invasive plants. Ongoing clearing efforts are required to keep its habitat free from alien plants.
Population

The population has at least 1000 individuals, and exhibits a stable trend. It is known from four subpopulations.
