Justification
This taxon has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 120 km², and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 60 km². It is known from between 5 and 10 subpopulations. It has large subpopulations within its limited range and is not declining. It is therefore listed as Least Concern.

Range
This taxon is endemic to South Africa, and occurs along the southern foothills of the Langeberg and Outeniqua Mountains from Swellendam in Western Cape to Humansdorp in Eastern Cape. It is evidently absent between Riversdale and George although it also occurs in the Long Kloof with outlying populations in the Great Swartberg.

Description
It occurs on lower sandstone slopes in fynbos or transitional fynbos.
Threats
This mountain species has lost 25% of its habitat (calculated using landcover data in GIS). However, apart from competition from alien invasive species, it has no other severe threats.
Population

It has a stable population trend, and a population size of at least 10 000 individuals, with at least four known subpopulations.
