Description
It occurs in seasonally marshy flats and sandy plateaus in sandstone fynbos.

Population

It is locally abundant in suitable habitat on the southern Cape Peninsula. iNaturalist observations between 2019 and 2021 indicated that there were two subpopulations of two hectares with about 30 plants each, while a third subpopulation had 200 plants in five hectares. There is however still a need to do a thorough survey of the entire population to accurately estimate the overall number of mature individuals. As there are no threats, the population is suspected to be stable.
