Justification
Bobartia indica is widespread and common with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 79 421 km², and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 716 km². It has lost just over 50% of its habitat, however, the population has a stable trend and does not yet qualify for an IUCN threat status. It is therefore listed as Least Concern (LC).

Range
This species is endemic to South Africa, and is mostly found restricted to the southwestern corner of the Western Cape province. It extends from Mamre and Goudini to Caledon, and is common on the Cape Peninsula.

Description
It occurs on sandy flats or slopes, most commonly below 500 m elevation, and flowers mainly after fire.
Threats
This species has lost 51% of its habitat (calculated using landcover data in GIS) to infrastructure development and agriculture. It is also threatened by too frequent fires, harvesting, and competition from alien invasive species.
Population

This species is widespread and common. The population has a stable trend, and is not in danger of extinction.
