Description
Seasonal pools.
Threats
Threatened primarily by heavy grazing and trampling of plants (N.A. Helme and D. Raimondo pers. obs.). Habitat loss to crop cultivation also occurs sporadically - some farmers do plough up these seasonal pools. This has occurred in Nieuwoudtville in 2005, but it is not general practice as crops do not grow well in seasonally inundated areas.
