Justification | EOO <1800 km². Formerly widespread in the Swartland in wet clay habitats, but now restricted to three or four small, severely fragmented remnants due to urban development and wheat and vineyard expansion. It continues to decline due to habitat invasion by alien grasses. |

Threats |
There are only three extant sub-populations. The majority of historic localities have been lost to urban expansion around Cape Town and Stellenbosch.
The majority of this species' habitat has been lost to wheat and vineyards in the past 150 years.
Alien grass invasion is a severe ongoing threat at Rondebosch Common and Duthie Nature Reserve. |
