Justification
Ruschia mariae is known from fewer than 10 herbarium records. It has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 50 078 km². This species appears to have a wide distribution and it is not likely to be declining across its range, it is also suspected to be under collected. It is therefore listed as Least Concern.

It is endemic to South Africa, and in the Northern Cape it is found in Sutherland and from Colesberg through to Steytlerville in the Eastern Cape.
