Justification | Ruschia vanniekerkiae is a poorly known species. It was described in 1932 from cultivated plants that was collected at an unspecified locality near Ladismith in the Little Karoo. To date, no wild plants have been matched to this species. Ruschia is a large, taxonomically problematic genus, and many species are poorly known. In the absence of any data on wild populations of this species, its risk of extinction cannot be assessed. |
