Justification
Trichodiadema olivaceum is endemic to the eastern Karoo, with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 4927 km². The majority of records for this species come from hill slopes and there are no significant threats recorded to this species. It therefore qualifies as Least Concern.

This species grows amongst other bushes and is hard to detect, it is currently known from 10 different collection localities but is highly likely to be undercollected. There is no information available on population abundance.
