Justification
This rare and probably overlooked species was known for a very long time only from the area around the type locality north-east of Barberton. A few recent collections have shown that the range extends through Swaziland into northern KwaZulu-Natal. It occurs as localized subpopulations in a rocky habitat that is not threatened.
