Justification | A poorly known species that was last collected in the 1960s from a very small area in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. It is likely to be threatened by forestry, agriculture and urban development, but not enough is known about this species to determine its status. |

Threats |
| Although the Midlands Grasslands around Mooi River are not the most severely transformed grasslands in KwaZulu-Natal, and lower slopes continue to be transformed due to afforestation, development and conversion of grasslands to pasture. There are however some areas of good pristine grasslands on the higher ridges where this species is still likely to be found if efforts were made to locate it (C.R. Scott-Shaw pers. comm. 2007). |
