Range
This species is endemic to South Africa. Its distribution range is uncertain. According to Manning and Goldblatt (2012), it has a narrow distribution in the Eastern Cape, between Humansdorp to Uitenhage. Herbarium records indicate that it is possibly more widespread across the Great Karoo, Little Karoo and Eastern Cape.

Description
It occurs in loamy soils, often in disturbed areas.
Threats
This species has no severe threats.
Population

Drosanthemum lique is common and resilient to disturbance, persisting in overgrazed and degraded areas. The population is not suspected to be declining.

The genus Drosanthemum is in need of taxonomic revision, and many species are difficult to separate. The distribution range of this species is not well known, and needs to be resolved through taxonomic study.
