Justification
Drosanthemum salicola is a widespread and common species. It is declining due to ongoing habitat loss across most of its range, but is not yet in danger of extinction. It has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 22 658 km², and is listed as Least Concern.

Range
This species is endemic to South Africa, and is found from Alexander Bay in the Richtersveld southwards along the West Coast of South Africa to Yzerfontein in the Western Cape.

Description
It occurs on saline sandy flats near the coast.
Threats
Drosanthemum salicola is threatened by ongoing habitat loss to destructive, open cast mining of coastal dunes in the Richtersveld and Namaqualand. In the Western Cape it is threatened by ongoing habitat loss to coastal development.
