Population

This species has been rarely recorded, but is quite likely overlooked. It is common and widespread across the central mountains of the Richtersveld (P.C.V. van Wyk pers. obs.). Elsewhere it occurs in scattered, small, localized subpopulations (L.L. Dreyer and K.C. Oberlander pers. obs.).
