Population

This species was previously known only from the type collection between Vanrhynsdorp and Vanrhyns Pass, and could not be relocated, despite searches. However, in 2008 it was found growing in association with three other rare Oxalis species on a broken shale outcrop in this area, quite likely the same locality where it was first collected in the 1930s. This site represents a rare, unique habitat within this area, and this species is quite likely restricted to this habitat.
