Justification
EOO 0.25 km², AOO 0.19 km², plants at one known location are threatened by ongoing habitat loss and degradation as a result of damming, drainage and obstruction of wetlands as well as expanding vineyards and spreading alien invasive plants.

Description
Wetlands or in peaty soil with quartzitic gravel and sand on lower mountain slopes and flats.
Threats
Threatened by ongoing habitat loss and degradation, primarily due to disruption of wetland drainage systems through damming and road construction, as well as vineyard expansion. Spreading alien invasive plants are also likely to adversely affect the water table of wetland systems.
Population

Known from a single wetland on one farm in the Slanghoek Valley, where the species is locally abundant.
