Justification
An extremely localized (EOO 2.75 km²), high altitude habitat specialist. Only one small subpopulation of fewer than 200 plants is known. Potentially threatened by alien Pinus invasion and too frequent fire.

Description
Fynbos, on damp, south-facing rock ledges.
Threats
The southern slopes of the Riviersonderend Mountains is severely infested with alien invasive pines, posing a threat to many localized endemics. Invasive pines are already present on the lower and middle slopes of Pilaarkop and is likely to cause a decline in the population of this species if allowed to spread to the summit.
