Threats |
Plants at nearly all known locations are threatened by competition from alien invasive plants, and habitat loss and degradation as a result of expanding crop cultivation as well as severely degrading veld management practices for thatch harvesting. Some plants are also threatened by habitat loss to urban and industrial expansion as well as coastal development. |
Population |
This is a common and relatively widespread species, however, the population is being much reduced by extensive, ongoing habitat loss and degradation. Seven out of eight known subpopulations are threatened.
