Justification
A locally common, high altitude species with an area of occupancy (AOO) of 20 km². This species is known from two naturally disjunct subpopulations and is not declining. It is therefore listed under the IUCN 3.1. criteria as Least Concern but is nationally recognised as Rare.

This species grows on rocky, stony, high altitude slopes, in low alpine fynbos.
Threats
This species has no severe threats.
