A range-restricted, but locally common species. Most of its montane habitat is well protected and it is not in danger of extinction.

Description
Marshes and seepage areas on mountain slopes.
Threats
Some parts of the Hottentots Holland and Babilonstoring mountains are invaded by alien plants, but this is not a severe threat and unlikely to cause the extinction of this species.
Population

Although it has a restricted range, this species is very common with subpopulations numbering many thousands of plants (R.C. Turner, pers. obs.).
