Threats |
| About 30% of this species' limited habitat has been transformed to timber plantations in the past. Plantations are however no longer expanding, and 95% of this species' remaining habitat is protected in mountain catchments and provincial nature reserves. At least one subpopulation is however threatened by unmanaged escaped pine seedlings invading into its habitat. |
Population |
A very rare species, seldom encountered, and easily confused with Erica ceraria. It is known from three to four subpopulations.
