Assessor(s)
H. Mtshali & P.A. Manyama
Justification
This taxon has a restricted range and is known from between four and five subpopulations. It is potentially vulnerable to invasive alien plants, which could increase its risk of extinction. It therefore meets the criteria thresholds for listing as Near Threatened under criterion D2.
Distribution
Endemism
South African endemic
Provincial distribution
Western Cape
Range
This taxon is endemic to the Kleinrivier Mountains above Hermanus in the Western Cape Province of South Africa.

Description
It grows on marshy seeps at high altitudes.
Threats
Despite being primarily found in protected areas, part of this taxon's habitat is infested with alien invasive plants, but they are not directly impacting subpopulations as yet. They are likely to outcompete and cause an ongoing decline in habitat quality if not managed. As a reseeder this taxon is potentially vulnerable to local extinction if fires occur repeatedly before plants reach reproductive maturity.
Population

As there are no severe threats, the population is not suspected to be declining.
