An extremely localized habitat specialist (EOO 4 km²), known from two locations and declining at one of these due to too frequent fire.

Rocky summit slopes in fynbos.
Threats
Both known subpopulation are potentially threatened by too frequent fires. One subpopulation on Sleeping Beauty Peak has burnt twice within the past seven years. Invasive alien pines are also a potential threat.
Population

Monitoring of the subpopulation on Sleeping Beauty Peak indicates that it is declining due to too frequent fire.
