Threats
Erica filamentosa is endemic to Swellendam Silcrete Fynbos, a vegetation type over 60% transformed, predominantly for crop cultivation. Of the two known subpopulations, one is protected within a national park, while the other occurs on privately owned land where it is threatened by ongoing habitat loss to crop cultivation.
