Justification
This localized Langeberg endemic has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 93 km², and is restricted to wetland habitats. It is not currently threatened. Alien invasive species may cause some habitat quality decline in future. The spread of invasive species therefore requires monitoring. Given its restricted range it is listed nationally as Rare but qualifies for listing as Least Concern under the IUCN 3.1 categories.

This species is endemic to the Langeberg Mountains in the Western Cape province of South Africa.

Description
It grows amongst restios in seepage areas or in wetlands, mostly between 300-600 m.
Threats
Stands at Valsrivier are potentially threatened by drainage of the Valsrivier Wetland, but other stands exist in pristine, untransformed vegetation. Alien vegetation may pose future threats, but at the time of assessment the species is not under threat.
Population

Distinct subpopulations occur in several seepage/wetland areas on the summit and southern slopes of the Perdeberg (east of the Doodkisberg), and westwards towards the Duiwelsbosberg at Gavelsbos/Valsrivier.
