Justification
A range-restricted species (EOO 1218 km²), with some subpopulations threatened by habitat loss to agricultural expansion. The majority of the population however occur in protected montane areas and is unlikely to decline to extinction.

Description
Sandy flats at fynbos-renosterveld ecotones to mid to upper rocky slopes.
Threats
A few subpopulations on flats in the Koue Bokkeveld area are threatened by habitat loss to expanding fruit orchards, dam construction and competition from alien invasive plants. However, the majority of collections (75%) are from mid to upper mountain slopes, where plants are not threatened. Although declining in some areas, this species is unlikely to be in danger of extinction.
