Justification | A range-restricted species with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 71 km². It occurs in localized and sometimes dense stands. Despite the presence of invasive alien plant species within its range, this species' preference for growing on cliff faces buffers it from the impacts of this pressure. It is therefore listed under the IUCN 3.1 Criteria, globally, as Least Concern but is nationally categorised as Rare. |

Threats |
This species' habitat is currently threatened by infestations by invasive alien plant species. However, this is not expected to directly affect the species. |
Population |
Subpopulations have been recorded on Constantiaberg, Noordhoek Peak, Swartkop and Swartkopberge. The subpopulation on ENE-facing slopes below Swartkop Peak, is large consisting of an estimated 10 000 mature individuals. Other subpopulations consists of scattered stands of approximately 50 plants in each stand.
