Justification
This species has a very large range (EOO 42 000 km²), however it is currently known from only five locations but with large disjunctions between them. We suspect that there are a number of undiscovered subpopulations of this species. This species is locally abundant in the areas where it is known, and not threatened.

Description
Sandstone and granite slopes.
Threats
Potentially threatened by agriculture on the Piketberg and Gifberg, but this is only likely to affect subpopulations on flats and plateaus, not on slopes, which are not generally ploughed. Other subpopulations are not threatened.
Population

Subpopulations have been recorded on the Kamiesberg in Namaqualand, Gifberg near Vanrhynsdorp, Piketberg and the Paardeberg near Malmesbury. The species is locally common, often occurring in dense stands.
