Justification
A rare montane species that has an extent of occurrence (EOO) and area of occupancy (AOO) of 20 km². It occurs in a specialised habitat, affording it protection from fire, agriculture, and alien invasive vegetation. It therefore qualifies for listing as Least Concern under the IUCN 3.1 criteria but is nationally listed as Rare.

Description
It occurs in fynbos in rock crevices among large boulders.
Threats
Various invasive species including acacias, pines, eucalypts, and hakeas occur as scattered individuals throughout the range of this species; however, since this species grows in a specialised habitat of rock boulders, which tend not to be the preferred habitat for invasives.
Population

Due to the nature of the habitat in which this species grows, it is deemed safe from threats and therefore inferred to be stable though it was last seen in 2008 and requires monitoring.
