Justification
A habitat specialist that is rarely seen. It has an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 98 km². The population is protected in the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve. Despite some threats, particularly invasive alien species, the majority of the population is protected. It is therefore listed under the IUCN 3.1 Criteria, globally, as Least Concern but is nationally categorised as Rare.

This species is found from Sir Lowry's Pass to Betty's Bay in the Western Cape Province of South Africa.

Description
It grows on steep slopes in shady, moist kloofs, mostly on seaward side of mountains.
Threats
Less than 5% of its range is impacted by low levels of alien vegetation, most of the subpopulations occur within the Kogelberg Nature Reserve, where the fynbos is still in good condition.
