Justification | A cryptic montane habitat specialist that grows in fire-protected habitats, known from five subpopulations. It has no known threats and is therefore listed as Rare nationally and under IUCN 3.1 criteria as Least Concern. |

Population |
This species is known from not more than 20 collections. A collection made in 2005 noted that five plants were found in Koue Bokkeveld mountain. There is not enough data to estimate the population size, but based on this observation it is suspected to be a rare habitat specialist. The population is not suspected it be declining, but field monitoring is needed to confirm this.
