Threats |
A very small proportion (7%) of this species' habitat has been lost to timber plantations and urban expansion. Some subpopulations near plantations are threatened by competition from escaped pine seedlings. In remote montane areas it is not threatened. |

Erica opulenta is common in suitable habitat, and often dominant.
