Justification
This species occurs in a rare, specialized habitat and only five locations are known, scattered over a large area (EOO 4900 km²). Two of the five locations are potentially threatened by alien plant invasion and a deleterious fire regime.

Description
Fynbos, in seepage areas on mountain slopes above 600 m.
Threats
A reseeder potentially threatened by too frequent fire on the Piketberg where the habitat has burnt at least three times within 10 years. Elsewhere subpopulations are potentially threatened by invasive alien pines spreading from forestry plantations.
