Justification
A hight altitude habitat specialist known from more than 10 locations, with an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 10 097 km² and an area of occurrence (AOO) of 72 km². Recent observations indicate that this species is rarely seen. However, it is still known from a few plants at widely scattered sites hence it qualifies as a rare species due to low density of individuals. This species is therefore listed as Rare nationally and under IUCN 3.1 criteria as Least Concern.

This species occurs in the Langeberg, Klein Swartberg, Outeniqua, and Rooiberg Mountains in the Western Cape Province of South Africa.

Description
Plants grow on moist rock ledges and slopes at high altitudes.
Threats
No immediate or potential threats have been identified for this species. However, there is a potential for future invasion threats by Pinus and Hakea species currently occurring at low densities on the lower slopes of some of this species' range.
Population

Plants are rarely seen. The population is not suspected to be declining.
