A rare, high altitude habitat specialist, known to occur at only four locations. Potentially threatened by alien pine invasion.

Fynbos, moist areas at the base of rocky outcrops.
Threats
The population is not currently threatened, but large areas of the Riviersonderend Mountains are densely invaded by alien invasive pines, and if allowed to spread uncontrolled, could potentially affect this population.
