Hermannia damarana is a rare and localized species in South Africa, but not suspected to be threatened.

This species is widespread in Namibia and Botswana. It is known from a single record from South Africa, near the Botswana border west of Mafikeng.

Description
It occurs in lime-rich soils on flats and gentle slopes in thornveld.
Population

This species is rare and localized within South Africa, but is widespread outside South Africa. It was last recorded in South Africa in 1977, but is likely to be overlooked, as it occurs in a remote and botanically poorly explored area near the border with Botswana.
